Does Constitutional Carry Change Anything?

Half the states in the US now permit constitutional carry which means no permit is required for law abiding citizens to carry a firearm concealed in public.

Whether you're in agreement or not, the question is, other than not needing a permit what does it really change?

The answer is…It changes almost nothing. 

Whether you have a permit or not, gun laws still pertain to you.  You're still responsible for every bullet that leaves your firearm.  You're still highly encouraged to get educated and training regularly.  You still may not carry where prohibited.  And it still doesn't make you invincible.  The only difference is should you want to travel outside your home state, you WILL need a carry permit in your home state to travel to another state that has reciprocity. That means the states you are traveling through and to allow you to carry a firearm in those states using your home state carry permit.  However, you must be aware of each state's local carry laws as they may be different.

The bottom line is that whether you need a permit or not, owning a firearm, let alone carrying one, is a huge responsibility and one you should take seriously.  Should you ever need to use it, I can assure you that you will not rise to the occasion like they do in the movies without consistent and deliberate education and training over an extended period, and you will not be given a pass because "you didn't know" or "you didn't mean to do it".
